This is because the sleeping bag gets compressed under you, losing its insulating properties. This issue can be solved by inserting insulation directly into the hammock or sleeping bag. An even better solution, however, is to use a so-called underquilt or underblanket. The underblanket is hung under the hammock, preventing compression and thus perfectly insulating not only from below but also from the sides. This allows you to enjoy a comfortable sleep even during colder nights.
