General information

The Bushmen THERMO Tarp 2 x 3 m bivouac tarp is a smaller version of the very popular THERMO Tarp 3 x 3 m. The tarp can be used as a standalone shelter or a simple tent. The tarp is designed for maximum durability. That’s why it’s made from a rip-stop fabric that increases its tear resistance, and its most stressed areas are triple-stitched.

Thermal insulation

The upper side features M81 Woodland camouflage pattern, providing good concealment in natural environments.

The tarp is lined with a thermal insulation layer on the underside that reflects heat and solar radiation. During cold nights, it retains body heat. In summer heat, you can use it with the silver side up. It will reflect sunlight, making the shelter much cooler than unprotected areas. The thermal insulation layer also provides UV protection.

Universal use

Thanks to triple stitching around the perimeter and numerous loops, the tarp can be used in many different ways to create a comfortable bivouac and shelter in any situation. Using the surroundings (trees, rocks, and depressions) or trekking poles, paddles, or sturdy sticks, you can create a tent well-adapted to the location and current weather conditions.

Emergency shelter

In extremely bad weather conditions, you can quickly set up an emergency bivouac. Such shelter provides excellent insulation, both from the ground and from all sides. The tarp’s thermal conductivity is approximately 40 times lower than sand and almost 20 times lower than grass. Therefore, the tarp provides effective protection against hypothermia in rain and wind and offers enough space for lying or sitting while waiting for weather changes.

Unconventional use

The thoughtful design makes the tarp not only a practical and lightweight camping shelter but it can transform into a practical blanket, sleeping pad, windbreak, or even a stretcher. It can also be used as a heat reflector and help speed up clothing drying.

Simple packaging

The entire tarp can be placed in a transport bag with handles. When carefully folded, the tarp takes up very little space with transport dimensions of approximately 25 x 16 cm. It easily fits even in a small backpack.
