Why are standard ropes not enough?
If you own a hammock with only a pair of ropes, you will know that this solution has several pitfalls. It once happened to me that after a day’s hike I finally stretched out in the hammock and after a while I realized that somehow it wasn’t right. Maybe the hammock needs a little more tension, maybe a little more leg lift.. well, out of the hammock. Untie the knot, pull the ropes higher, shorten, retie. All this only to find, when I get back in the hammock, that the knot is tighter than I expected and I need to retie the hammock. Well, that’s exactly what the EASY system eliminates.
How does it work?
The EASY system consists of a pair of carabiners and two 3-meter nylon straps. Each is equipped with 1 loop at one end and 5 loops at the other.
I wrap the strap around the tree and thread the end with 5 loops through the loop on the other end. I tighten the created loop and clip the hammock using the included carabiner to one of the 5 loops. I do the same on the other side and it’s done. Easy! If I want to loosen the hammock or tighten it more, I just need to clip the carabiner to a different loop.
