General information

The Bushmen THERMO Tarp 4 x 3 m Olive Green bivouac tarp is a larger version of the popular square THERMO Tarp 3 x 3 m. The tarp is suitable for both larger hammocks and for building more spacious shelters. The tarp is designed to last as long as possible. That’s why it’s made from fabric with a rip-stop weave that increases its tear resistance, and its most stressed areas are triple-stitched.

Thermal insulation

The tarp is lined on the underside with a thermal insulation layer that reflects heat and solar radiation. During cold nights, it retains body heat. In summer heat, you can use it with the silver side up. It will reflect sunlight, making it much cooler under the shelter than in an unprotected area. The thermal insulation layer also protects against UV radiation.

Universal use

Thanks to triple stitching around the perimeter and many loops, the tarp can be used in many different ways to create a comfortable bivouac and shelter in any situation. Using the surroundings (trees, rocks, and depressions) or trekking poles, paddles, or sturdy sticks, you can create a tent well-adapted to the location and current weather conditions.

Emergency shelter

In extremely bad weather conditions, you can quickly create an emergency bivouac. Such a shelter provides excellent insulation, both from the ground and from all sides. The thermal conductivity of the tarp is approximately 40 times lower than sand and almost 20 times lower than grass. Therefore, the tarp provides effective protection against hypothermia in rain and wind and offers enough space to lie or sit while waiting for the weather to change.

Unconventional use

The thoughtful design makes the tarp not only a practical and lightweight camping shelter, but it can also transform into a practical blanket, sleeping pad, windbreak, or even a stretcher. It can also be used as a thermal reflector to speed up the drying of clothes.

Simple packaging

The entire tarp can be placed in a transport bag with handles. When carefully folded, the tarp takes up very little space and its transport dimensions are approximately 30 x 15 cm. It fits easily into a standard backpack.
